My GIA GG journey

My GIA GG journey

Hello Friend!

Happy April! Spring is here!

I am excited to share this news with you!

Exactly 2 week ago, I passed my final exam that completes my entire gemology studies with the Gemological Institute of America. A journey that I started in late 2018, I am now a GIA Graduate Gemologist!

An emotional, mental and physical journey it has been! All the sweat and tears was 100% worth it.

How did this journey begin?

Early on when I first started Vi Ling Contemporary Jewelry (old name), I was limited to creating pieces with metals and faceted gemstone beads. After a few years, I started to get bored with the materials I had but I didn't know how to further take my creations to the next level. Meanwhile, learning and organizing the financial aspects of owning a business.

In 2016 I had accompanied my friend to Van Cleef & Arpels as she was inquiring a repair for her bracelet. The kind gentleman that was helping us shared his journey of receiving his Graduate Diamonds diploma through Gemological Institute of America (GIA). With that credential, it gave him the job opportunity to work for Van Cleef & Arpels, French luxury jewelry company. My friends bracelet repair didn't take long, but during our conversation this gentleman gave me encouragement to look into GIA's distance learning education options. I will never forget him and thank him for inspiring me to take the GIA learning journey.

The rest is history!

I personally want to THANK YOU for being a part of this journey with me. Without you and your continuous support, my drive to complete this extensive education would have been completely different. This isn't the end of the jewelry education journey for me. There is much more to learn in the world of jewelry and gemstones. I am eager to dive right into the next continuing education journey and be even more inspired in creating your Forever Love Story.

Don't worry, I am still around designing and creating for you. Stay tuned for One-of-Kind and Collection drops coming soon!
